Loose mineral cosmetics can be difficult to apply. However, if you wish for your make-up to be natural and ecological, you will need to learn how to use them. Check out below the two most popular methods for the application of mineral cosmetics.

Mineral cosmetics are usually available in loose form. These are among many foundations, powder, eyeshadows, blushers which color is affected by the ingredients. Mineral cosmetics contain for example mica responsible for skin highlight, zinc oxide with antibacterial properties, titanium white as a natural UV filter, iron oxide ensuring products with color. Mineral cosmetics are made with natural ingredients that are safe for all skin types.

How to apply mineral cosmetics?

Mineral make-up requires the skin of the face to be prepared properly. You need to get rid of all dry skin patches, take care of hydration and to camouflage all imperfections. For application, it is best to use brushes or latex-free sponge. You need to keep in mind that this type of product can fall down and settle on the clothes and hair. Mineral cosmetics can be applied in two different ways, dry or wet. Thanks to those methods different types of coverage can be achieved as well as a form of make-up matching the needs.

Make-up with mineral cosmetics – the dry method

This method of application provides a more subtle effect. The level of coverage depends here on the brush you use. The most delicate coverage ensures the use of fluffy brush, the kabuki type, medium coverage with flat top brush and the highest coverage with a short top brush. It is similar to the use of make-up cosmetics. The denser bristle on the brush, the more intense the make-up effect you gain.

Make-up with mineral cosmetics – the wet method

Mineral cosmetics can be applied also wet which leaves better coverage effect and more natural finish. It is applied with a wet brush or a make-up sponge. The make-up accessories can be wet with thermal water, floral water or a toner. If you do not use brushes or a sponge for your make-up, then you can mix your mineral cosmetics with a cream or oil. It will provide texture similar to BB cream.

Make-up with mineral cosmetics – a few rules

When performing your make-up, you can combine various techniques and types of cosmetics. The use of mineral foundation does not mean you cannot use pressed blusher or cream eyeshadows. This rule works also the other way round. Along with the liquid foundation, you can use loose eyeshadows or blusher.
