A movie-star look created within a few minutes! Give stick make-up products a try
Are you dreaming of flawless make-up, a lovely blush on the cheeks, seamless foundation, flattering contouring and incredible glow but you don’t like spending hours in front of the mirror? You are convinced that lack of time doesn’t let you create the dream look? Let me disagree! For those of you who are pressed for time (so for me recently as well), there are products available letting you magic out breathtaking make-up with just a few strokes of a stick 🙂 I’m talking stick make-up products.
Stick make-up products
As the name suggests, the product are encased in sticks and are meant for creating amazing make-up. We are spoilt for choice, actually. There’s an overwhelming range of such products, including foundations, bronzers, blushes, eyeshadow, body illuminators, contouring products and even unusual hair pomades.
Make-up sticks are solid formulations and using them is the easiest thing you can imagine. You swipe the stick across the skin, gently rubbing or patting the product to lessen any sharp corners.
Why stick make-up products seem to be perfect for busy ones?
This seems so simple. A stick means you need to use it in a specific way: draw a few lines and that’s it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that you’re about to be a stick-make-up master right away but you’re going to get the hang of it very quickly. It’s a child’s play. The hardest task is applying a stick foundation, and you need to put a lot of effort so that the outcome is as natural as can be. You need to use the right strokes and skillfully smudge it with the fingertips. If you don’t like the idea of stick foundation and they’re hard to use for you, then try other stick products that are much easier for beginners e.g. blushes, bronzers and highlighters.
My list of the best stick make-up products
Which cosmetics are good value for money?
1. Blush stick
I’m in love with the multi-purpose blush sticks that work for enhancing both cheeks and lips. You start beside the upper part of the ear lobe and move towards the middle of the cheek. Of course you need to smudge the product gently.
2. Highlighter stick
A highlighter looking like a lipstick is my top product that I can’t imagine my daily make-up without. Draw one line at the top of the cheekbone, on the bridge of the nose, right below the brows and onto the Cupid’s bow. Next, simply pat the highlighter on with fingertips to smudge the sharp edges. Voilà! The face is beautifully illuminated, radiant, youthful and fresh. Marvelous! I also put a bit in the inner eye corners and – in summer – on the shoulders to get the glow and super smooth skin.
3. Bronzer stick
This one is applied below the cheekbones. Ideally, you should first check your face shape and pick the exact spot where a bronzer should land. I also like to use it for the outer eye corners.
There are also make-up primer sticks but I haven’t found a decent one yet; they tend to pile up. If you’ve got your favorites, let me know!
