How to clean boar bristle brush? My proven 6-STEP manual
I’m sure that all of you will agree with me when I say that boar bristle brush makes a perfect solution for those who value natural hair care. The only drawback is that it gets dirty pretty fast and making it clean might drive you round the bend, especially if you aren’t patient. Still, keeping the bristle clean is very important, providing that you care for having smooth and shiny hair.
How to clean boar bristle brush?
My proven 6-STEP manual
STEP 1
At the beginning, use your hands. Pick up the hair and other impurities as thoroughly and carefully as it’s possible. The remaining dirt can be removed with the aid of combs and cosmetics.
STEP 2
Next, you can put the brush under stream of running water. Make sure that water isn’t too hot because high temperature might cause damage to the bristle. Once damp, you can follow with a shampoo. Use a gentle shampoo because the strong one with aggressive washing agents might ruin the bristle.
STEP 3
Distribute a portion of shampoo and spread it over and among the bristle. Massage the bristle for a while until lather is created.
STEP 4
To remove the remaining impurities (e.g. broken hair, dirt, dandruff) use a comb, brush or any other accessory that allows you to detangle the hair. In my opinion, a comb with hard yet elastic teeth would make the best choice. Such tool will free the brush from even the tiniest impurities.
STEP 5
Now, you can rinse the boar bristle brush with lukewarm and cold water, which will leave the bristle shiny and smooth. It’s also a good idea to apply a regular hair conditioner to the bristle. This will be beneficial for the bristle and later for your hair.
STEP 6
If you still spot some dirt, use tweezers to remove it. If you want to disinfect the brush, use a special antiseptic agent or wipe it with a cloth soaked with salicylic alcohol. Let the boar bristle brush air dry. Put it in a dry place. Keep repeating the entire procedure once a month.
