Is your hair frizzy? Learn to tame unruly flyaways!
Frizzy hair is a problem that many girls/women fight with. Tresses are unmanageable, sensitive to weather conditions, looking messy. Luckily, there are a couple of hacks you can try to keep hair smooth, glossy and under control!
Why is hair frizzy?
Curly and high porosity hair is the most prone to frizz. The reason is this type of hair absorbs lots of water from the air and the water evaporates fast. Curly girls use gels or creams and get it over with. The thing is more tricky for straight-haired girls – they need special tricks and methods.
Dry, damaged hair
If hair is frizzy and additionally dry, damaged and has split ends – you need to do away with the last defect at first. The wrongdoers of tragic hair state might be: vitamin and mineral-poor diet, heat styling too often, chemical processing, overexposure to the sunlight.
Dry and damaged hair care must be started by having ends trimmed. Then, use products high in emollients and humectants: glicerin, aloe, honey, hyaluronic acid, linseed oil, avocado oil, almond oil and black seed oil. Additionally, you need to gently wash and towel dry the hair, and give up on hot airflow while blowing the hair dry.
Too much moisture = frizz
Hair might get “over-moisturized” if you apply too much moisturizing products. In turn it is dry, frizzy and limp-looking. How to solve the problem?
Firstly, use SLS shampoo to get rid of product build-up. Next, make sure you use humectant and emollient products in the right proportions. You can also apply silicone-based products for smoothness and keeping strands in control.
Over-proteined frizzy hair
Apart from humectants and emollients, your hair needs proteins. Still, its excess has a terrible effect on the appearance and condition of hair. It becomes straw-like and frizzy. To fix over-proteined hair, use a clarifying shampoo and an emollient-based product (do a hair oil treatment or apply a leave-in silicone and oil-infused product).
