My Tried-And-Tested Masks for Dry Hair
Hey, there!
Not that long ago my hair was dry and dull. No matter what treatment I used, it was hard for me to keep my strands shiny and soft. Luckily, my hairdresser tactfully suggested to me that I should introduce some good hair masks to my daily beauty routine. And you know what? Following this piece of advice helped more than I expected it to. Reading your messages and comments, I realized that I’m not the only one with this problem. That’s why I decided to make a short list of my favorite masks that combat dryness. Not only are these products quick in delivering the effects but they also make hair look gorgeous.
How often should you apply a hair mask?
I reach for a hair mask after shampooing, which happens every two days. Naturally, when I really don’t even have 5 minutes, I apply a regular conditioner instead. However, you don’t need to use a hair mask that often. Spreading it along the hair lengths once a week should do, but the more you reach for a hair mask, the quicker your strands should become better-looking and healthier.
What’s the correct way of applying a hair mask?
I’m pretty sure there is one correct way of applying hair masks. First you need to wash the hair and later use a soft towel to remove excess water. Then you let the product sit for 20-30 minutes and rinse thoroughly afterwards.
Let me give you a few more tips that may help you get the most out of your hair mask:
- Before applying the mask, always use a soft towel to soak up the water. In this way you prevent the mask from being watered down, thus losing its power.
- Spread a portion of product along the strands, and then apply an extra portion to the tips.
- Comb your hair to distribute the mask evenly. Always use a wide-tooth comb and be careful not to pull out too much hair.
- Rinse only with lukewarm water (this applies to all hair care products, actually).
Okay, now you know how to use a hair mask and how to boost its effects easily. Now it’s time to find out which products are worth buying.
My Tried-And-Tested Masks for Dry Hair
1st HAIR MASK FOR DRY HAIR
Nanoil, Keratin Hair Mask
This mask is my favorite. It coped with dryness and improved the appearance of my strands like no other. It took Nanoil Keratin Hair Mask just a few uses to fight off the brittleness, leaving me with soft and smooth strands. The longer I applied the mask, the less dull my hair was. I love this effect! Now my hair is more resistant to damage because it’s stronger and repaired. Even the tips look better, they don’t split any longer. Ever since my hair has been improved, I use this mask once a week. Keratin Hair Mask’s texture is cream and thus it’s very easy to spread along the strands. Even its smell is amazing, at least for me. One jar holds 300 ml of the product and its price is affordable. I ordered mine from nanoil.us which is the official website of this brand. If you want to buy just one hair product, I’d suggest going for a Nanoil mask.
2nd HAIR MASK FOR DRY HAIR
Kérastase, Résistance Masque Thérapiste
Kérastase is a world-recognized brand, offering the top hair care products. I always wanted to get some of their products but every time I saw their prices, I put off the purchase. But obviously the time came and I finally ordered Résistance Masque Thérapiste. It has a cream texture and its aroma isn’t so “into your face” if you know what I mean. When it comes to the results then well… I didn’t regret any penny spent on this mask, even though it has just 200 ml. Kérastase Résistance Masque Thérapiste leaf my hair is so pleasantly soft <3 I couldn’t help myself from touching it. Apart from getting visibly smoother, my hair was no longer dehydrated. In general, its condition improved significantly: it was elastic and healthy. Did I have to wait long for these effects? Not at all. I’ve heard that some girls leave this mask on overnight and rinse it in the morning, but I’m not sure if you really need to keep it on your hair that long.
3rd HAIR MASK FOR DRY HAIR
Kiehl’s, Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Reapative Hair Mask
This mask is designed to repair dry and damaged hair due to two plant oils extracted from olives and avocado. Owing to these two naturally-derived substances, Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Reapative Hair Mask is a deeply moisturizing mixture. After applying it just once, my hair felt more hydrated. The more I used Kiehl’s mask, the dryness was slowly getting less bothering, to be gone for good within two or three months. In general, I could notice my hair becoming nourished, soft and shiny. To be honest, I don’t really like this mask’s texture because it’s too heavy so you need to apply quite a lot to cover the entire length. I read that Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Reapative Hair Mask works even better when used together with Kiehl’s conditioner, but I haven’t bought it yet.
4th HAIR MASK FOR DRY HAIR
Davines, Nounou Nourishing Repairing Mask
Let me tell you that there is no fixed price at which you can get this hair mask. You should check various e-shops before ordering a piece because its price varies greatly. Nourishing Repairing Mask is easy to recognize because of its translucent packaging. I read somewhere that Davines tried to create environmentally-friendly packaging that can be recycled but I didn’t verify this piece of information. What surprised me most about this product is one of its key ingredients. Did you know that this translucent packaging holds a tomato extract? Davines discovered that tomatoes are good at moisturizing hair. The more you use this mask, the softer and shinier your strands become. I also noticed that Nourishing Repairing Mask improves hair manageability.
Now you know the best hair masks for dry hair. I recommend all four products because I believe they will help you replenish moisture to your hair.
