Why your hair oil treatment fails?! Top mistakes

Hair oil treatment has been a thing for a long time. Despite its great power, there are some people who don’t get benefits for their hairdos. If you are ready to learn the secrets of this Ayurvedic magical therapy, read on. Find out mistakes to avoid and what caused your hair oil treatment fail.

Your hair is very dry

Firstly, you should know that oils aim at locking moisture in hair. How to get round to it if your hair is dry? Use aloe gel as a base for your hair oil. Aloe gives moisture whereas the oil prevents it from escaping by forming a barrier on the surface. After applying both products, braid your hair and leave them in for a couple of hours or even overnight. If aloe makes your hair static or frizzy, use other humectant.

You don’t comb hair after applying an oil

Even if you apply the oil after combing, you need to comb it again after application to aid oil in penetrating the hair. Ideally, use a wide-tooth comb (combing for two minutes or so).

Too much styling product

If you often style hair and don’t wash out products thoroughly, oils have no chance of penetrating inner hair structures. To avoid that, you should cut down on styling products and use a clarifying shampoo. Before shampooing, comb the hair thoroughly.

Your hair oil has gone off

Expired oil might harm the hair and irritate the scalp. You know it’s off when you check its smell, color and consistency. If you notice the color and consistency have changed and the oil smells, throw it away!

Not applying oils on a regular basis

Hair oil treatment done once in a while doesn’t bring desired results. To keep hair healthy and beautiful, you need day-to-day care. Long therapy with the right products and the best method will give you the effect you dream of. Think about drawing up your hair care schedule with fixed dates for carrying out your hair oil treatment.

Wrong oil for your hair type

I guess it’s the most common hair-oil mistake. As a reminder – you need to choose oil right for your type of hair porosity (low, medium or high). Each porosity goes with specific oils that have a matching size of molecules and content of omega fatty acids.

You use refined oil

Refined oil is clear of all valuable substances because it undergoes heat processing. It does not enhance hair! Instead, pick unrefined oils high in vitamins, minerals and other active ingredients. These oils are produced through cold-pressing (filtration or centrifugation).
